Lewis Hamilton has never been afraid to raise his voice against the establishment. Whenever it comes to speaking for inclusivity and equality, he has always stood his ground. With the churning the whole world is going through, we come across horrific tragedies on the news and that is something the Briton can’t stand. The current world leaders, according to him, are not doing enough to bring people together. That is something that Lewis is ready and willing to take into his own hands.

Hamilton recently appeared on Jay Shetty’s Podcast. The talk mostly stayed away from Formula 1 and brought out the person he really is. It showed how much of a thinking individual Lewis is and how atrocities around the world bother him. In a section of the podcast, he told how he aspired to be a better person for people to look up to and his ambitions to be a future world leader.

Speaking on the On Purpose podcast, Hamilton said, “I’m fighting for something far greater than winning a race. I’m really fighting for changing the world. We’re more divided than ever, I would say. It’s devastating. I can’t watch the news, it’s devastating. There’s so much happening. But there are some great people out there that are doing really great things and I want to be a part of that inspirational energy bubble that people like yourselves [Shetty] are a part of because we need to create a brighter future.”

“We need to create better future leaders. Look how bad our leaders are in government. We need to be a part of the next generation of thought leaders that are positive. So that’s what I’m trying to be a part of every day.”

In the same podcast, Lewis talked about his wish to have a law in place to tackle income disparity. He also shared the idea of increasing the skill sets in his arsenal, ones that he wasn’t exposed to as a kid.

Lewis Hamilton feels there is a lot to be done, but there is not enough time

Lewis did not grow up in the most affluent of families. In fact, it was hard for his parents to make ends meet, and had to struggle to put tires on his racing kart each weekend. All of that deprived him of exposure to some of the things in life that may help make one a more stable individual.

In the same interview, he told, “I’m really trying to focus on my intentions as you are talking about like, setting your intentions each day. I’m trying to learn new tools I didn’t have as a kid. I didn’t know about yoga, I didn’t know about meditation, I didn’t have podcasts to listen to, good people to listen to, and aspire to help me put on the right path. So, we’ve got a lot of work to do. There’s almost not enough time here on this planet, right? We’re here for such a short time really in the scale of the universe.”
