As the final race of the season came to an end, the fans were extremely emotional. With the season ending, four F1 drivers are leaving the grid, and it’s all too overwhelming for many.

One of those four drivers was McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo. The Honey Badger finished in P9 in his last race for the papaya team at Abu Dhabi. As the next season commences in 105 days, Ricciardo would officially not be on the grid. Even though this had been a long time coming, it all got too real for fans today.
Daniel Ricciardo was emotionally overwhelmed by himself. Finishing in P9, his race engineer and teammate had incredibly nice things to say to the Honey Badger. As he stationed himself post the race, Daniel took to his radio to thank his engineers one last time.
He said, “I try and appreciate your efforts over the last two years so, thank you.”
As he built up the strength to say his last thank you, Ricciardo evidently had a crackle in his throat. Tearing up, the Honey Badger made sure that everyone’s efforts toward his driving career were appreciated.
As the video hit the internet, the fans could not deal with the waves of emotions the team was going through.

Watching the happiest, most cheerful man on the grid choke up, many were in tears. The Aussie fans just didn’t want to come to terms with reality. Whilst some encouraged the Honey Badger, as they reassured him that it wasn’t ‘over just yet.’
Twitter had a lot of emotions today. Many came together to share their love for their beloved Aussie.
The grid will feel weird without Daniel he brightens every room so much... The energy and the vibes will take a hit! I guess we have to hope for tighter racing next year to add the extra vibes
They continued to plead with the Honey Badger to reconsider his stay in F1.
