Red Bull’s Dutch Lion has been a head-turner this entire season. With consistent focus and determination, Max Verstappen has emerged as the record holder of most wins (15) in a single season in the entire history of F1. The two-time world champion, however, may want to leave his racing life behind him sooner than you’d think.

The Red Bull man, Max Verstappen, has an active contract until 2028. However, Max Verstappen believes that he may not want to extend his time at Red Bull or at the F1 track altogether.

By the year 2028, the Dutchman would be 31. Even though most drivers have continued racing into their 40s, like Fernando Alonso, the legendary Michael Schumacher, and even the 37-year-old seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen wants to do things beyond the grid.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports F1, he said that he may have other plans after his contract comes to an end. He said, “I’ve still got time. I don’t want to make drastic decisions now. I want to do other stuff.”

“F1 is amazing and I’ve achieved a lot, and I’m very happy and proud about it… but it’s a lot of traveling and it’s a lot of races. And at one point, what is more important? Is family more important, or is F1 more important? That’s when you need to make your mind up,” the Dutchman concluded.

However, while he still has his head in the game, the youngest race winner gave his thoughts on the upcoming season of 2023

Max Verstappen believes 2023 will require more focus

The Red Bull golden boy believes that 2023 is going to pose new challenges, and it isn’t going to be easy keeping up with them.

With the budget cost cap penalty, Red Bull is going to lose wind tunnel time for the upcoming season. On the other hand, Mercedes and Ferrari will come up with more competitive cars and this might be another challenge for the Austrian team.

The Dutchman said, “We know over the winter, we really have to keep pushing and keep trying to find performance and not only performance, understanding, possibly the tires even more because the tires will change a bit for next year.”

He concluded by saying he looks forward to how the team as a whole plans to overcome the incoming obstacles.
