The 2023 season isn’t upon us yet, however, there has already been a battle in the Ferrari camp. The battle was between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. It was more of a battle off-track but of wits than fists. In this battle of wits, the interviewer put Sainz on the spot and the Spaniard was outwitted.

In a YouTube quiz show called Shell’s Battle on The Beach, the host pitted the two Ferrari men against each other. In one section during the test, the two had to answer personal questions about each other. That is when Carlos Sainz was put on the spot and that is exactly when he fell face-first.

During the battle, a round of questioning required Sainz to list three things he likes about his teammate. A pretty standard question. However, in the heat of the battle, Sainz was dumbstruck and he couldn’t list three things he likes about Leclerc in the limited time period.

Let’s see how the conversation went:

Carlos Sainz (CS): “Becasue..”
Charles Leclerc (CL): “He cannot find them.” (Leclerc breaks into laughter)
CS: Because “I like his style.” (After a few moments of hesitation and brainstorming) “This is tough, I need to find another two.”
CL: “Just say you don’t like me.”
CS: “Because he gives me an easy time playing paddle and golf”
CL: “But a hard time at chess”

Finally, after much deliberation, Leclerc and the buzzer ended Sainz’s misery. Leclerc ended the conversation with, “Oh my god, he’s not going to get the point so I think I won.”
