The legendary Michael Schumacher’s son, Mick Schumacher, just bid adieu to his F1 team Haas at the end of the 2022 season. With a heavy heart, many F1 fans wished the German a farewell. However, most believe that Haas’ decision was rather unfair. Mick Schumacher also came forward in a recent interview to share his contribution to the team’s betterment.

Mick Schumacher had consistently been improving his stance during the season, and he got his first points in F1 at Silverstone this year. Having had a troubled start with Haas’ car setup, Schumacher stepped in to change a few things around to facilitate a better run.
In an interview with AMuS, he said, “We got lost with the car setup at the beginning but then caught on relatively quickly.”

“From the Canadian GP, I had a car that suited me, and we continuously improved. The real breakthrough took place in Canada… At some point, Kevin (Magnussen) also jumped over to my setup.”
Having added value to the team in more ways than one, it does rather reflect poorly on the team to have handled Mick’s exit the way they did. Haas holding the lack of points in the season against him, despite their car troubles, didn’t go down well for many F1 fans.

On F1 Nation podcast, Hill said, “The way that the sport is presented now it’s there’s a lot of very good positiveness, and that’s great. But underlying everything is always going to be the bottom line and the bottom line is you win or you don’t, or you’re quicker or you’re not, and that’s going to rule your life.”

“I think Mick was under a lot of scrutiny, a lot of pressure and I think that it got to him the end,” he concluded.

Mick Schumacher was a fan favorite. Many Schumacher fans hoped to see the racer achieve greater heights. However, his future in the F1 world as a racer has rather been bleak. Many hope he will eventually find his way back to the track.
