Fernando Alonso’s trainer recently revealed the secrets behind the Spaniard’s performance and how Alonso is able to perform at such a high level at 41 years of age. Lewis Hamilton recently revealed a life-changing promise he made to himself that put him “in a good place.” However, he also admitted to breaking the promise twice already. What was the promise? How did Hamilton break it?

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have been on a downward trajectory ever since the shock of the 2021 championship finale. With Mercedes lacking behind and Hamilton’s 8th championship hopes fading, it must be stressful for the 38-year-old. Angela Cullen, his former performance coach, once suggested after spending a year with the 7X champion that Hamilton only drank with her 4 times during the whole year. And only when there’s a big gap between races, then Hamilton will just have a drink to celebrate the win.

However, Lewis Hamilton recently revealed how he completely left alcohol to be in a better place but then broke the promise he made to himself a couple of times. According to the F1: Chequered Flag podcast, Lewis Hamilton said, “I’ve generally been in a very good place. I didn’t drink for like 5 months. Also since the new year I didn’t drink 5 months into the year. I’ve only had 2 occasions but I don’t really drink much anyways but I’m stopping again.”

With the British GP just around the corner, Eddie Jordan suggested he would like Lewis Hamilton or some other British driver to win the race. If that happens, Hamilton will have to pop the champagne. Will the Briton keep the promise and not drink at the podium celebration? Also, the celebration reminds us of what Toto Wolff said about Lewis Hamilton’s 8th championship. Let’s see what he said.
