Earlier this season, rumors of Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari for 2021 lit up as the entire F1 paddock was anticipating the shocking switch from the Briton.
However, the rumors gradually died down and so did Lewis’ talks with Ferrari. Recently, Lewis opened up on the matter by mentioning that his Ferrari switch “just wasn’t meant to be.”
According to AutoSport, Lewis opened up about his talks with Ferrari. “I was never close at all to ever leaving my team,” he said.

“I don’t necessarily know that our values are aligned and timing [wise], it just wasn’t meant to be. I’m not bothered by it. I’m so proud and grateful for the journey that I have with Mercedes.”
The relationship between Lewis and Mercedes has always been a special one. Hence, it is not a surprise that Lewis has yet again chosen Mercedes over Ferrari.
Although the Briton is yet to sign a contract with Mercedes for 2021, it is looking likely that the deal will soon take place.
Lewis Hamilton “tattooed” his loyalty to Mercedes
The seven-time world champion opened up about his loyalty to Mercedes and his intentions on maintaining it in the long term. “I think this is the only team in the history of the sport where you’re long-life family member,” he said.
