The build-up to the Formula 1 season is in full swing. From car launches to the Drive to Survive trailer launch yesterday, everything is making the wait for the upcoming season harder for racing fans to endure. After being done with the livery and car launches, the drivers have begun to tease the fans in other ways. The latest tactic up their sleeve is the helmet reveal. Lewis Hamilton took to social media to reveal his 2023 lid ahead of the upcoming season, making fans root for his eighth title.

In an Instagram post, Lewis updated three images, giving his fans a glimpse of the neon wonder. The ‘Hamilton Helmet’, dons his iconic choice of neon and purple, the two colors which have become synonymous with his lids in the current time. But it’s really the third picture that stands out. As one can see, it has three rows and seven stars on it. The number of stars is the number of championships he has won. Out for more, he has left space next to the seventh star at the bottom row.

Lewis even chimed in with the caption explaining the tones of his lid, “2023 HELMET — Going with both yellow and purple this year. Love how they look together and how sick it looks against the black car. Keeping the rainbow accents too, always 🏳️‍🌈”

The fans were quick to notice the stars and the significance of the third row on the helmet. They want their “king” to claim his eighth title, which slipped out of his clutches in a very closely fought battle during Abu Dhabi GP, 2021.

“That 8th star is coming king”

“That helmet has room for 2 more stars. I say add one this year! 🔥”

Even after enduring the first winless season of his 16-year-long career in 2022, the fans have not left their champions side. They want him to go in for wins and a championship in 2023.

“23 world champion”

“Can’t spell Lewis without w”

There were some contrasting emotions about the color of the lid as well.

“Bring back the black and purple”

“Absolutely love it! 💜💛 especially the contrast it creates with the black livery 🤤”

Hamilton, who is often seen making socio-political statements with his helmets, was encouraged by a few fans to not let the recent FIA clampdown stop him.

“Never be silenced when speaking about what you believe in and what matters.”

“The FIA can go where the sun never shines if they have issues with the rainbow clours!”
