A seven-time world champion just recently took to his Instagram to congratulate another champion who successfully defended her title from last year. Although this is a great moment for Jamie Chadwick, not only winning the W Series championship but also being congratulated by Lewis Hamilton, there is also an unfortunate aspect to the story.

Due to financial shortfall, the W series ended earlier than it was supposed to. The series will not be going to US and Mexico for the final three races.

This resulted in Jamie Chadwick, who is in the lead with a dominant 50 points, being crowned as the W series champion. This is her third title in a row. With 11 wins, 18 podium finishes, and 10 pole positions over the last three tremendous seasons, Jamie extremely deserves the title.

Lewis Hamilton generously congratulated the win whilst expressing his disappointment with the last races getting canceled. He wrote, “Congrats @jamiechadwick [fist bump emoji] I was looking forward to the last three races but still so well deserved.”

Lewis Hamilton has always shown relentless support for sport personas across all fields. His appreciation for the dedicated and unbeatable 24-year-old was no different.

As we celebrate the deserving winner, Jamie, there is a lot of disappointment surrounding the premature end of the 2022 season for the W series.

Unexpected underfunding has left an unavoidable impact on the W series

The lack of finance has brought the W Series to an inevitable early end to their season. As reports suggest, the recent contracted investment did not bring in the required funds, which resulted in an early halt. The goal now is to focus on long-term funding, which will ensure the financial security of the sport.
