Lewis Hamilton Warned of Nico Rosberg Déjà Vu as Mr. Consistency George Russell Storms the Grid

Lewis Hamilton took F1 by storm by winning his first-ever championship in the second year itself. The boy from Stevenage hasn’t looked back from that, as he has gone on to win a record seven world championships in his career.

The Silver Arrows ace, in his long and illustrious career, has had a lot of talented teammates alongside him. But, only two, Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button have been able to finish above Sir Lewis Hamilton in a season.

This is something that doesn’t happen often. However, George Russell looks to be in a position to achieve this rare feat against the F1 legend.

Mr. Consistency, George Russell, might not have one of those legendary Mercedes cars. But he has been able to make the best out of the tools at his disposal. With seven podiums this season, George Russell is currently 35 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton with just 6 races to go.

Speaking to VegasInsider on this topic, Emerson Fittipaldi, retired Brazilian automobile racing driver, said, “I think it’ll be great to see how they do against each other. I could see at the beginning of the season, Lewis was taking more time to adapt to the new rules.”

It will be tough between both. Lewis has always been extremely talented and is a great champion. And George Russell, trying to be there. He’s the challenger. It’ll be great to watch.”

Having seen Lewis Hamilton over the years, he would not want a repeat of 2016. The seven-time world champion will do everything in his capacity to finish above the talented George Russell.

After the race in Abu Dhabi, Lewis said, “I probably drove with more heart this year. I had to dig deep, deeper than other years where I’ve started first and disappeared.”

“So it’s taken a lot more heart and a lot more courage to face the challenges.”
