With 2 wins in the first three races, Charles Leclerc started off the season on a high note. There was a time when he was 46 points ahead of Max Verstappen. Despite that, the Dutchman wrapped up the championship with 4 races to go. How has Leclerc stayed so calm amidst all this? We might just have gotten the answer from one of his live streams from the past.
Ferrari’s last major trophy came in the year 2008. For the most successful team in the sport’s history, staying trophyless for so long must be painful. What does Charles Leclerc do for his mental training?
While Ferrari has lost out on both driver and constructors’ championships by a huge margin, they are currently runners-up in the constructors’ standings. The reasons behind the slump in their performance are some faulty race and tire strategies. To make matters worse, the car has shown reliability issues in many races. But what is it that has helped Charles Leclerc stay calm all this while?
Apart from being a talented driver, Charles Leclerc is also a fantastic streamer. His commentary while playing F1 on the simulator during his streams are hilarious. In one of his older streams, he crashed into a car that was involved in an incident while racing and was given a 5-second penalty. The incident made Charles go on a hilarious rant.

“Oh, my god. Honestly, this is the best mental training. I’ve got a 5-second grid penalty. What the h*ll is this? Honestly, this is the best mental training ever. I’ve never been so angry inside me. I’m just staying calm. Look at me! Look at this! I’m just calm. I just don’t care. So I’ve got a broken neck, a broken computer, a screen that is not working, a five-second grid penalty, went from 2nd to 7th,” Charles said.

The Prancing Horse has come under heavy scrutiny by their fans for their bad race strategies. Things got so bad that they would often get trolled with memes on the internet. GP Fans quoted him saying, “They have developed more on the car than we did. We know as well we stopped the development of our car quite early, focusing on 2023.”
