Red Bull secured the World Constructors’ Championship (WCC) at the US Grand Prix. Max Verstappen won his second World Drivers’ Championship (WDC) in the Japanese Grand Prix. This is the first double-title season for Red Bull ever since 2013. Since all of this was inevitable, it was understandable when Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen were a lot more relaxed in a recent interview ahead of the US GP. However, Verstappen did not miss a chance to take a dig at Mercedes and Toto Wolff.

Just like Max’s drivers’ championship, Red Bull winning the constructors’ championship was only a matter of time. There is an air of confidence in the Red Bull clan at the moment, and that was visible in the interview that happened before Sunday.

Max Verstappen roasts Mercedes and Toto Wolff

Max and Checo appeared on the Pardon My Take podcast. The hosts asked them both fun questions, but one question just had Max holding no bars. As we have seen in the Mercedes and Red Bull rivalry, the two team principals leave no occasion to take a dig at each other. And when it comes to Christian Horner and Formula 1: Drive to Survive, things get too spicy.

In the interview, Verstappen was asked if Horner has stopped complaining too much about Toto Wolff. The two-time champion replied, “There wasn’t much to complain about. They’ve never really been in our waters.”

Jos Verstappen Provides Odd Glimpse Into the Mind of Double World Champion Max Verstappen: “A Different Situation Than Last Year”

Christian Horner has a pre-race superstitious ritual. He has a lucky toilet he goes to before each race in every circuit. Talking in this context, Max was asked if Christian had found a lucky toilet for himself to pee in before every race.

Referring to the famous Japanese toilet brand which shared the name with Mercedes boss, Max joked, “Yeah, we found one in Japan. It’s called Toto. So basically, you just sit on Toto and drop something on Toto.”

Max Verstappen dedicates the US GP win to Dietrich Mateschitz

Before the qualifying on Saturday, Red Bull and the F1 world had lost a towering statesman, Dietrich Mateschitz. Talking post-qualifying, Verstappen had vowed to win the race in the Red Bull founder’s honor.

Once the race and the WCC were won on Sunday, the race winner took to Instagram to post an emotional message. He wrote, “This one is for Dietrich .So happy we could wrap up the win and the constructors’ championship, after such an emotional weekend for everyone @redbull. The only thing we could do today was win.”

The WCC title slipped Red Bull last year. Despite Verstappen winning the WDC title, the team as a whole could not do enough to secure the WCC title. The feat this year is definitely a fitting farewell for Dietrich.
