In the world of Formula 1, rumors and speculations often swirl. Prestigious teams can grab the spotlight, but it’s the drivers who usually become the center of attention. Recently, though, Lando Norris faced intriguing speculations. Despite McLaren’s competitive car and Norris’s impressive performances, whispers of a potential team switch have persisted. But in a recent statement, Norris ended it with a four-word verdict.

As of now, Lando Norris has impressed everyone by being seventh in the drivers’ championship. Even more impressive has been his back-to-back podiums at Singapore and Japanese Grand Prix. Furthermore, Norris’s recent comments have only added fire to the rumor of a switch to Red Bull, alongside Max Verstappen. Now, he seems to be on the right path toward a recommitment to McLaren, by putting an end to all the rumors.

McLaren’s 2023 F1 season had a challenging start, admitting they fell short of pre-season targets. But things soon improved during the Austrian Grand Prix, and Aston Martin’s struggles allowed McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari to catch up. McLaren’s upgrades ultimately resulted in a double podium at the Suzuka Grand Prix, with Oscar Piastri’s first-ever podium.

This marked improvement in McLaren’s performance will also play a vital role in Norri’s long-term commitment to McLaren. With the Qatar Grand Prix just days away, and McLaren’s car suiting the track, Norris can perhaps make a hat-trick of podium finishes. In fact, the Brit somehow managing to even steal a win before the end of the 2023 F1 season won’t be a shocker.
