Lando Norris never minces his words, thus, he didn’t pump the brakes on his verbal antics, instead; he shifted up a gear and hurled even more barbs at his compatriot Lewis Hamilton. Norris’s performance at the Hungarian GP was a masterclass in skill and strategy, securing him the P2 behind the indomitable Max Verstappen. But it wasn’t just his driving that stole the show; it was his words that resonated, echoing his bold performance on the track. In the midst of a post-race press conference, Norris took aim at Hamilton.

In a post-race press conference that mirrored a verbal joust, Norris aimed precision-drafted digs directly at Hamilton. Racing in the lower ranks of the field, clawing for position amidst the chaos of 19th and 20th places—this is a hardship that Norris claims Hamilton has never tasted. In Norris’s words, “Try racing in 19th and 20th. He’s never done that in his life. So that’s the only thing that Lewis hasn’t done in F1.” But Norris’s verbal vendetta didn’t stop there, “I know Lewis complains a lot of how amazing our car is and how bad theirs is, but they don’t have a bad car.” And the digs continued further.

Norris during the show “Grill the Grid by F1.” The quote in question that Norris had to guess was about whom, “If they ever make a ***** biopic, they should call it ‘the tire whisperer,” this quip held a hidden barb that was unveiled by Norris’s subsequent comments. Norris’s words carried a hint of irony. Norris playfully contradicted this notion, suggesting that while Hamilton might be a “tire whisperer,” he himself saw Hamilton as the polar opposite, jokingly labeling him as “the opposite of a whisper.” It was a witty remark, one that lightheartedly poked at Hamilton’s tire management skills, adding a touch of humor to the seemingly escalating rivalry.

The Woking-based team’s stunning improvement from the season’s inception has drawn praise, yet the extent of their progress is the point of contention that’s ignited a verbal duel between Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris. Hamilton made a bold assertion about McLaren’s pace improvement, suggesting a leap of a full second.

However, Norris, the young McLaren sensation, expressed his incredulity over this claim. Norris refuted Hamilton’s assertion, asserting that the actual improvement hovers around three to four-tenths of a second. The 23-year-old’s disbelief was palpable as he countered, “We’ve improved the car a good three, four-tenths (of a second), Lewis told me one second. I’m like, ‘What on earth are you talking about?’ They have enough data to know it’s not one second’s worth.”
