It’s only a matter of few months now before Sebastian Vettel officially starts driving for Aston Martin. His new team will also give him the opportunity to carve out a possible good final chapter in his racing career, after a rather disappointing one.
Much has been talked about the team, formerly Racing Point, and their key driving force of creating performance with limited potential. It suits Vettel to the ground, as he now steps into the team to take them in a whole different forward direction.
Speaking in an interview, Vettel talked about his excitement to experience the Mercedes power unit. Naturally, he also shared his optimism about working with a new team and fresh faces.

Sebastian Vettel is ‘optimistic’ that it will work out at Aston Martin
Touching upon the subject, Vettel stated, “Of course I’m mega-excited to see how it feels.”
It is interesting to note that the 33-year-old has, thus far, driven the cars which have had engines from BMW, Renault, and Ferrari in his Formula 1 career. He now adds Mercedes to the list who, as it stands, are the most dominant engine suppliers out there.

“I’ll meet a lot of new people, new ways of working, new approaches – and I wouldn’t be well advised to think that only my way is the right way,” concluded Vettel.
Aston Martin’s emergence bodes well for Vettel going forward
With Mercedes power at the heart of the vehicle, the team easily had the third-fastest car last season. Both Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll stepped up on the podium a few times. Moreover, the vehicle possessed a competitive race pace as well.

All of these aspects only seek to give Vettel a warm welcome in his first season with his new team. Possibly then, the objectives laid out for him as wins and podiums would seem quite realistic, considering Vettel also has the reputation of being a four-time F1 champion.
