Lewis Hamilton and Brazil are two matches made in heaven. The special connection and memories he has experienced in this North American country are unlike any other in F1. However, during the press conference for the Brazilian Grand Prix, Hamilton recently revealed that his love for Brazil started way before his F1 journey. To everyone’s surprise, it’s because of a silly sibling rivalry.

With Ayrton Senna as his idol and his first championship win at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, one would think that this is the reason Hamilton loves Brazil so much. However, you’d be quite wrong, as his love for Brazil started way earlier than he even became an F1 driver. A sibling rivalry with his brother, Nicolas Hamilton, is the focal point of the story.

The country of football, Brazil, was one of the best footballing nations in the FIFA video game and real life. While Hamilton states that the Brazilian colors are his favorite, let’s be real, it was his brother who he wanted to beat. Considering that England had a considerably inferior squad to the star-studded Brazil, it all makes sense.

This might have been destiny, considering that later on, Hamilton would idolize Ayrton Senna and also claim his first championship title at the Interlagos. However, the main question amidst this revelation remains how many times did Lewis Hamilton manage to lose to his brother, on the FIFA? Let’s hope that a young Nicolas Hamilton wasn’t aware of the park-the-bus strategy!
