Ever since the infamous Abu-Dhabi 2021 incident, Lewis Hamilton has had bad luck, which seems to continue, as he still looks for his 104th win in F1. However, it seems like the vintage Lewis Hamilton, who was renowned for being a brave young driver, is back. With the Brazilian Grand Prix being his ‘home race’, he looks determined to help Mercedes get one Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton is one of the few F1 racers blessed enough to have not only a legendary career. But also has two Grands Prix as a home race, thanks to a special connection to Brazil, with his honorary citizenship. Brazil might have lost its F1 hero, but ever since his debut, Hamilton has made sure that Ayrton Senna‘s legacy is always cherished,

Whilst the Mexican Grand Prix was supposed to be a ‘Sergio Perez‘ show, Lewis Hamilton somehow managed to steal the limelight. Determined to get on the podium and challenge Max Verstappen, Hamilton’s charge from 6th place, all the way to 2nd place, was absolutely magnificent.

However, a fearless Lewis Hamilton highlighted the moment when he decided to overtake Charles Leclerc by going on the dirty side of the track. This move not only showcased his brilliance but also his determination to win. This overtake had people so impressed that Alex Brundle, the F2 commentator, and son of Martin Brundle, couldn’t help himself from sharing his thoughts.

He stated, “I think it says everything about the bravery of Lewis Hamilton, to be honest, because he really kept his foot in.”. He further added his thoughts on his brave move, as he added, “It was an incredibly brave move. We’ve seen Lewis Hamilton decisive so many times throughout his career and, again, he was really decisive at that stage where he had to get the move done while he still had more mechanical grip than the Ferrari did because that went away from him relatively quickly.”

Brundle’s statement perfectly highlights the decisiveness in Lewis Hamilton’s driving skills. Despite not winning an F1 race for roughly two years now, he hasn’t let the negative thoughts get to him and affect his race craft or confidence. Moreover, with Hamilton looking braver and hungrier, what better way to end your almost two-year win draught than at the Interlagos?

Can Hamilton finally end his race-win draught?

Even though on paper, Lewis Hamilton’s average race finishes across the past two seasons haven’t been great. He has been very misfortunate, as the gap between Red Bull and all the other teams has been so massive that everyone is still playing second-fiddle to them. However, despite how inferior the W14 is to the RB19, Hamilton has put consistent performances that should certainly not go unnoticed.

This is why, heading into the Brazilian Grand Prix 2023, Hamilton has a real shot of getting that much-awaited win. Granted, Ferrari is already expected to be much faster than Mercedes at this track due to sheer top speed. But with his determined attitude and excellent form, Lewis Hamilton can certainly get a surprise win.

Moreover, with this being the last sprint-format weekend in the current season, Hamilton can help Mercedes defend their constructor’s championship position, and also overtake Checo in the driver’s standings. Now that would be an epic story at the Interlagos, for none other than the beloved Lewis Hamilton.
