There is no denying the fact that Lewis Hamilton loves music. So much so that listening to his favorite songs is an important part of his pre-race rituals. However, the Mercedes driver took a plunge to be a singer in 2018 as the mysterious rapper behind the alias ‘XNDA’ on Christina Aguilera’s 2018 track, ‘Pipe’ from her Liberation album. This was something he only revealed later in 2020 with a promise of releasing more songs in the future. Is that future finally here? Because Lewis Hamilton recently teased his recording gear through his Instagram story.

Hamilton’s confirmation of being ‘XNDA’ came after much speculation from the fans in the Formula 1 community, who had long suspected that the distinctive voice on the track belonged to Hamilton. However, he never officially confirmed his involvement until 2020. In a candid social media post, Hamilton revealed that ‘Pipe’ marked his recording debut as ‘XNDA’, with the short verse on the track being penned by himself in just two hours. “I shied away from acknowledging it was me, I won’t know why, maybe insecurities, fear, overthinking, something I think many people can relate to.”

Hamilton expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Aguilera, describing the experience as incredible and highlighting the importance of music as an outlet for him. He shared his journey of writing and recording over the past decade and hinted at the possibility of sharing more of his music with his fans in the future. “Guys, I’ve spent the last 10 years or more writing and recording, working with some of the most talented and beautiful people which I’m so grateful for.”

With the recent tease via his Instagram Story, fans should look forward to another Lewis Hamilton musical collaboration sometime in the near future.

And while there were rumors about said collaboration taking place, the idea didn’t materialize until Will Buxton brought it up with Charles Leclerc himself. When asked about the possibility, Leclerc responded, If it’s what everybody wants to know, then I’m not sure, to be honest. I don’t know, I haven’t spoken about music too much with Lewis yet. We discussed about it last year and he was telling me that he loves music and I don’t know. I’ll speak with him from next year onwards about a potential collaboration.
