Mercedes Teaser Confirms Niki Lauda Star To Remain on 2021 F1 Car

In 2021, Mercedes is going for an extension of their record of consecutive constructors’ championship. They beat Ferrari last season and will gun for their eight this year around. They are scheduled to launch their 2021 car on March 2, 2021.
The team took on the black livery last year to stand against racism and commitment to diversity. The team also adopted a red halo after Niki Lauda’s death in his tribute. The German joined the team back in 2013 and helped build the foundations that led to the dominating era.
He was a dear friend of Toto Wolff and played an important role in bringing Hamilton to the team as well. It looks like the team will continue to sport the red halo tribute to Niki Lauda this season as well, along with their black livery from last year.

As we all look out for the 2021 livery of Mercedes, the team just gave us a sneak peek into their car for this season. The team posted a picture on Twitter captioned, “We promised a W12 tease.”

The picture looks amazing and the attractive red halo, in honour of Niki Lauda, looks absolutely incredible. It’s keeping in line with Mercedes acknowledging the German’s spirit in their 2021 campaign. The former champion would have turned 72 yesterday.
Meanwhile, another interesting thing to notice in the picture is the letters ‘KE’ towards the left end of the picture. Could that be NIKE?
Is the brand that is synonymous with winning entering the Formula 1 sport with the team synonymous with winning? We’re going to have to wait till March 2, 2021 to get our answers!

“When you lose, you are driven to find out why. We see that in the team. When we lose a race we think ‘why did we lose that?’ The reaction to go and find out why, gather all the learning you possibly can, and turn that into the next step in performance is huge,” he explained.
Niki Lauda was one of the important foundations of the Silver Arrows team going into the new era. The German champion believed that an individual learns the most from losing. The team still continues to exhibit the learning spirit of Niki Lauda.
