‘Not Up to Me’ to Help Ricciardo Beat McLaren F1 Struggles: Lando Norris

When Daniel Ricciardo joined Lando Norris at McLaren, many fans were thrilled. This was because the two are among the most popular drivers on the F1 grid and the funniest.
However, in terms of on-track action, Ricciardo has not been able to match his teammate. In that regard, Norris is not about to show the Australian driver any mercy. He insisted that he does not sympathize with his teammate’s early struggles at McLaren.
Instead, the older driver has been forced to play catch up to his young teammate. Meanwhile, Lando Norris has proven his mettle by being ‘Best of the Rest’ behind the Mercedes and Red Bull drivers.

At the Spanish Grand Prix, the 30-year-old Aussie managed to score over Norris with a fine 6th place. Up until that point, Lando Norris had not finished lower than 5th. Spain was a small hiccup, as the Briton finished down in 8th.

Norris said, “I don’t want to be mean but I don’t have sympathy. At the end of the day, it was his decision to come to McLaren.
“It’s the decision of any driver to go to a different team and it’s up to him to do a good job. It is as simple as that, It’s up to him, it’s not up to me to help him or up to me to make him feel better. It’s his job.” (h:t- GP Fans)

The British youngster admitted that his teammate will eventually find his feet. However, he does not feel sorry for him, as he acknowledged that things will be difficult.
Ricciardo is not a special case, as lots of other drivers are going through the same predicament. Now, the 21-year-old declared that once his teammate is up to speed, they can launch a two-pronged attack.
