Say what you will, but ever since Lawrence Stroll took over Force India, the team has been on an upward trajectory. What many assumed to be a small stint in the premier class is in its fifth year now. Force India to Racing Point and now Aston Martin will enter the 2023 season with Stroll’s son Lance and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso at the helm. Clearly, a man who means business, Lawrence Stroll, communicated his ambitions in Formula 1 at the launch of their 2023 challenger.

Aston Martin will race in the 2023 season in their new AMR23. The Canadian owner has extremely high hopes for his team racing with the new challenger. The billionaire communicated exactly that to the media at the launch of the green machine.

Outlining his long-term ambitions to the media, as reported by Motorsport-Total, Stroll said, “Enthusiasm ignites passion. When I get excited about something, I get very passionate. And when I get passionate, I win.” Stroll also laid out his ambitions: “To build one of the greatest teams in the history of Formula 1.”

Bold ambitions for a team that has not finished above seventh after the rebranding. However, Stroll is aware, like every ambition, his F1 ambitions will also take their due course. “This is only our third year on this journey. As everyone knows, Formula 1 takes more than three years. But the plan is to take one step at a time – until we win and ultimately fight for world championships,” he added.

Stroll has already invested huge sums in his son, Lance’s F1 development. However, with money no object, the billionaire is pumping more money to achieve the Formula 1 goal.

The Silverstone-based outfit is still functioning in a 30-year-old created by Eddie Jordan. However, from May 2023, the team will start operating in a new facility next to the old one. Stroll is using his billions to give all possible tools to the team with massive hiring as a part of the expansion project.

Moreover, he trusts these investments are key and will deliver the F1 goal. “We’ve roughly doubled the number of employees,” says Stroll. “The people we’ve signed recently and those who have been there are now taking it to a whole new level.”
