Following the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is slowly trying to pick itself back up. Formula One is also trying to do the same, and is aiming to kick off the season by early July. Obviously, nothing is set in stone, but F1 hopes that Austria will serve as the season opener. With their home race on the horizon, Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen are looking forward to the season’s first race.
Verstappen has an excellent track record at the Red Bull Ring, since he won the last two Austrian Grands Prix. All this is in spite of the fact that Mercedes won four races on the trot since 2014. However, Verstappen loves the short twisty track and fought his way to win in the last two races.

The best part is that, F1 is entertaining an option to host a second race in Spielberg, if it opens up the 2020 season. Considering that Max Verstappen generally performs well in Austrian, this scenario bodes well for him. Speaking to Austria’s ServusTV, he said,”I always like to drive there and hopefully we’ll also get two races”
Admittedly, Verstappen would have loved to race at Zandvoort in front of his home crowd. Unfortunately, the global situation is still delicate, so he has to settle for witnessing the Orange sea in Austria.

”All those people in the Orange, that remains just beautiful to see. However, the most important thing is that we are going to fight for the world title and that is why I want to go out again as soon as possible. Hopefully in Austria, but at least I’m ready for the start”, Red Bull Racing’s team leader concludes.
For the moment, the entire F1 paddock is taking the situation seriously and going one step at a time. One wrong move can set everyone back for weeks or even months.
