While the whole world is busy presuming that the chapter of Red Bull is over for Sergio Perez, it seems like his father has refused to lose faith in his son. Despite the massive failure that Perez faced at the Mexican Grand Prix, his father’s bold claim about the racing future provides some interesting insight into Checo’s situation.

The hero of Mexico, Sergio Perez, in an attempt to save his Red Bull seat and please home fans, unfortunately crashed out at lap 1. With him already suffering from mental health issues, Helmut Marko did not make his life any easier. The Mexican Grand Prix crash has a lot of repercussions for him. However, it seems like his family has not given up, as Antonio Perez, his father, has made a bold claim.

Antonio Perez’s bold claim suggests that not all is over for Sergio Perez, at least for now! Despite the disappointing result at the Mexican Grand Prix, he has not given up on his son. And rather suggests that the chapter of F1 is far from over, for Checo.

If you didn’t know, Antonio Perez is a member of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies. And despite being a politician, he manages to have quite a frequent presence on social media. Recently, though, he reposted a post on his Instagram story that had him, Helmut Marko, and Christian Horner talking out and discussing a few things.

Antonio Perez did not shy away from expressing his feelings, and he also made quite a bold claim on the story, stating, The best of Checo is yet to come.

His bold statements signal that the world of F1 has yet to see the best version of Sergio Perez. The support from someone like a father is certainly going to boost Perez’s morale. Especially considering that Fernando Alonso has recently been rumored to be involved in a driver swap with him.

However, with all due respect papa Perez, considering Checo already being 33 years old, and there only being no way but down after departing from Red Bull, it’s unlikely that the world will see the best of Sergio Perez. In contrast, the world might have already seen him at his best, and now watching him quite possibly at one of his worst.

Why the upcoming three Grands Prix might decide Checo’s future

The upcoming Brazilian, Las Vegas, and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix are likely to be extremely pivotal. There is simply no more room for error for Sergio Perez. And as sad as it is to say, he only has three races to protect his future in the F1. Saving his future at Red Bull seems already like a lost battle, at the moment.

Moreover, with Lewis Hamilton right on his neck, this is the time for Checo to prove his father right and show the world his best self. Doing so would not only make Antonio Perez a proud father but also salvage his career for the 2024 season. If Checo can manage to do this and have a decent showing in the 2024 season, he can potentially have a lot of options by the end of next season. Especially considering that the 2025 season will see quite a few drivers have their contracts expire. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise? Who knows?
