The 2023 racing season also doubled as the wedding season. Earlier this year, F1 heiress Chloe Stroll married Scotty James. Now, former Renault driver and brother of Kelly Piquet, Nelson Piquet Jr. has tied the knot with his partner Patsy Zurita in Sao Paulo. Zurita herself is an Equestrian. The spectacular Fazenda Santa Barbara is where the grand wedding celebrations took place. However, it was once again Max Verstappen who stole the show.

Verstappen has been stealing the spotlight from other drivers thanks to his dominant on-track performance and stole the show once again. This time it was off-track, during the Piquet Jr.-Zurita wedding ceremonies.

Near the end of the wedding ceremonies, Patsy Zurita threw her bouquet to an eagerly waiting group of women. As the tradition goes, whoever catches the bouquet is believed to get married next. One of the women waiting in the group was the sister of the groom, Kelly Piquet.

However, as luck would have it, Piquet didn’t have the good fortune of catching the bouquet. While she was cheering for the person who actually did catch the bouquet, there was one person watching along who was celebrating something else altogether. Max Verstappen, who was watching the proceedings, jokingly celebrated the fact that Kelly Piquet didn’t catch the bouquet. He pumped his fists in a mock celebration, thanking god that he might not be the next.

Yes, Max Verstappen is not Penelope’s father – Danil Kvyat is. However, this doesn’t stop the Red Bull driver from showering tons of love towards Penelope. There are a few clips on the internet, where “P” interrupts Max Verstappen’s sim racing streams, that have absolutely blown up.

One of the most popular clips definitely has to be when Penelope comes crying to the Dutchman, refusing to go take a bath. Verstappen puts his foot down, laughing and insisting that Penelope take a shower. They go back and forth about this, with Penelope crying and hugging Verstappen, while the Red Bull driver is laughing, consoling P, and racing all at the same time.
