Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet are perhaps the oldest unmarried couple on the grid. The two have been together since the start of 2020 and their bond has only grown stronger. They spend plenty of time together around the paddock, away from the sport, and they also take family trips. We all know how serious family trips are, right? With the prolonged relationship, many fans have started to speculate and ask the question that is perhaps bugging both Verstappen and Piquet.

The question is what every fan and perhaps a few of their family members are asking is when are the two tying the knot? The two are in love and share a beautiful and caring relationship. We all know how well the Dutchman gets along with Piquet’s daughter, Penelope, so many assume it’s a matter of when and not if. However, some fans are getting impatient and using creative methods to see this fairytale come to life or at least suggest it, but Piquet did not like it.

As highlighted by the Instagram page f1gossippofficial, an F1 page edited a video of Piquet trying to catch the bouquet at her brother’s wedding. The next clip shows Piquet next to the Red Bull man. The video, now deleted, makes a clear suggestion and Kelly Piquet personally criticized the creative libraries taken by the F1 page’s admin.

“Wow. Very creative to put together two different clips and make up a story. Bravo,” commented Piquet. The Brazilian model wanted to highlight how the two clips were unrelated and she let her feelings known with the comments.

We are sure that being falsely portrayed must be infuriating for Piquet, who went as far as calling out an F1 page for its edit. However, nothing changes the fact they’re still a family, married or not, and even Verstappen’s mother agrees.

Max Verstappen’s mother expresses her gratitude for his girlfriend Kelly Piquet’s contribution to his life

The Dutchman has had a tumultuous upbringing with his parents separating when he was young. Living in separate households is never ideal for a child’s upbringing, but that is exactly how the Dutchman was raised. So ever since Verstappen has started dating and the three have started living together, he has gotten some sense of stability in his life. This is exactly what Verstappen’s mother Sophie Kumpen is grateful for.

Speaking to the media, she said, “Kelly is of course a bit older. She has a little child. They’ve created some sort of a little family. And I think that Max maybe missed that when he was young. And I also think such stability has helped him in F1, as he knows that someone is waiting for him at home.”
