Another day and we still have no clarity on the Christian Horner controversy, which has become the F1 world’s favorite topic of discussion. The controversy came to light last week then we were acquainted with the basis of the accusations after Dutch media outlets revealed the news. Soon after that, Horner expressed his stance on the matter and denied all claims. Red Bull has set up an internal investigation on the matter. However, so far, we have not gotten a concluding statement on these allegations. To add a twist to this ongoing drama, ex-F1 boss and journalist Peter Windsor has added his conspiratorial two cents.

In his recent live chat on YouTube, a user asked Windsor about the Horner controversy. The user specifically wanted to know if the timing of this accusation was a bit suspicious. Windsor considered two scenarios in his explanation. He replied, “If they’re real, you could argue, well is that a good or a bad time to be doing something a bit stupid, but human nature doesn’t really take into account other factors, does it? Timing and so forth.”

But if they’re not real, the timing is a bit suspect. I agree, he added. “We’ve had all these bombshells all of a sudden and now they’re suddenly one that’s hit Red Bull as well. What is the management progress anyway in that team after Dietrich Mateschitz?”

We would also like to remind you of the time when even Helmut Marko’s position in the team was in doubt after his ally Mateschitz’s passing. This could very well be a ploy to shift the balance of power within the Austrian team. However, we won’t know if this attempt was successful anytime soon despite the Friday deadline.

F1 expert reveals the purpose of the Friday meeting with Christian Horner with a prediction on any developments

Red Bull launched the investigation and employed an independent barrister to avoid any bias. This also promises extra scrutiny from the third party individual, as they won’t just accept any behavior on the ‘that’s just how things go around here’ narrative. Said barrister was scheduled to interview the boss on Friday and the F1 world was eagerly waiting for any developments.

However, Sky Sports F1 expert Craig Slater first explained the purpose of the meeting and also revealed what to expect from the meeting. He cleared all preconceived notions about whether the interview would give us the outcome while revealing the tentative timeline for the matter to be resolved.

Craig Slater said, “Christian Horner has been in this interview situation since about 10 o’clock this morning. I expect it to come to an end at about 6 pm, so in about 40 minutes or so from now. This is the first interview he’s had since we learned about this case. A female employee and colleague at Red Bull Racing has accused Horner of controlling and coercive behavior. I don’t expect an outcome or resolution by the end of today. I have been led to understand that this could be a long process.”

The purpose of the meeting was to determine Horner’s stance and find the truth behind his actions. The accusations are related to his crass and harsh behavior toward the female employee. So the barrister will need to determine if Horner’s actions and words dangled on the line of harassment or not.
