Daniel Ricciardo is back where he started after four years. The Australian left Red Bull Racing for a stint with Renault, followed by a move to McLaren. However, neither move quite worked out in Ricciardo’s favor and now the Australian is back with Red Bull but in a third-driver capacity.

A lot has changed in Red Bull since Ricciardo’s departure from the team. However, most of the higher management and his former teammate Max Verstappen stuck together and tasted success. Although, we are not sure if the Honey Badger will share the same rapport with the team. However, let’s do a recap of the banter he used to share with Verstappen back in the day.

The two drivers in 2018 sat down to chat for a staple Red Bull Racing YouTube video in Monaco. During the video, Verstappen read a question from the cue card, “Apart from our jobs, what do we have in common?”

Ricciardo took the lead and said, “Not much. I’ve got good looks, you don’t! I’m naturally talented in other sports, you’re not! You can ride a jet ski, I probably can, but choose not to because I do better things.”

However, the Aussie found some common ground. “We’re old enough. We like a beverage or two.” To this, then-20-year-old Verstappen shared his plight. “I’m almost old enough in America as well. I’m getting there,” he revealed. “We enjoy having a good time, let’s say that! We like letting loose every now and then,” Ricciardo concluded.

“I’m not going to be at 24 races, otherwise I may as well be on the grid somewhere! So I still made it clear [to Red Bull] that I need some time off for myself, to get away a little bit – but yeah, I’ll be around to some extent and try to stay involved,” he revealed.
