Scuderia Ferrari Officially Confirms Carlos Sainz Jr as Their New Driver for 2021

On Tuesday, Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel mutually chose to part ways. Of course, this triggered a massive shift in the driver market with everyone rushing to fill that vacant seat. Finally, Carlos Sainz Jr ended up as the big winner, as the Scuderia Ferrari team have recruited him to replace Vettel for 2021.
The Spaniard joins the Maranello outfit on a two-year contract, until 2022. According to team principal Mattia Binotto, Sainz and Leclerc is Ferrari’s youngest pairing in the past 50 years. He dubbed it as the start of “a new cycle with the aim of getting back to the top in Formula 1.”

What did Carlos Sainz say?
The Spaniard declared that he is excited to start this new venture. Hopefully, fans will be able to see him more often on the podium. He said, “I am very happy that I will be driving for Scuderia Ferrari in 2021 and I’m excited about my future with the team. I still have an important year ahead with McLaren Racing and I’m really looking forward to going racing again with them this season.”

Having said that, the 25-year old is determined to see out his contract with McLaren until the end. However, some fans will be devastated that the Lando Norris-Carlos Sainz partnership is breaking up so soon. Speaking of Lando Norris, the British youngster admitted that he will miss his bromance with Sainz Jr. Though he also declared that he and the Spaniard will make the last year of their partnership count.

In the meantime, Norris is officially partnering Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian’s recruitment was just announced ahead of Sainz’s Ferrari deal. Given that Norris and Ricciardo are two of the funniest drivers, the scope for epic banter between the two is endless.
Meanwhile, one can only hope that Sainz Jr gives Charles Leclerc a good fight. With drivers of their calibre, there is a strong possibility of them gunning for both championships.
