Sebastian Vettel joined the Aston Martin racing team at the start of the 2021 season. Before joining the team, he had endured a really tough final season with Ferrari. Although his performances in his first year with his new team were not consistent enough, he showed some glimpses of his old self in Baku and Budapest.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding his retirement from the sport after the 2022 season. But Vettel mentioned that his decision will be based on the results that he will achieve this season.

As reported by Motorsport-Turkey, the 4-time world champion mentioned that he’s fully focused on performing well in the 2022 season.
“Before I talk about my career after 2022, I need to see and understand how this season will go. At some point, I’ll start thinking about the future. After my past successes, I still want to win and my decisions will depend on our results.

When asked about the rumors of him replacing Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, “I don’t know where these rumors came from. Here I am and we just unveiled our new car. I think I answered your question!” said Vettel.

On his expectation with the Aston Martin team, Seb has a straightforward answer, “I’ll try to speed this process up a bit. There’s so much to do and with so much new stuff this year, it’s hard to say what to expect.”
At this point, it’s impossible to predict what positions we will take. But we are moving forward. We are in better shape than last year. We had problems last year, but this year everything should be better,” said the Aston Martin driver.
