Red Bull just showcased the RB20 and as the car was revealed, the attention turned back to Christian Horner. The Red Bull team boss has caught himself up in a rather troubling situation by being accused of “Inappropriate Behaviour.” In the wake of this, the investigation is currently underway.

But while things have been kept relatively secret by Red Bull, Sergio Perez shared a statement on the situation and stated that in the end they “just want to go racing.” When asked if the Horner situation has been a distraction for the team Checo said  “We are a race team and we want the whole team to stay together because we’ve been so successful. We will be able just to keep the whole team together and just focus on racing.”

Perez moved the focus away from Horner and stated “I am very focused on my own performance to get ready, to be fit, to be ready to drive the car, to be discussing things with the engineers.” He then pointed out to the media and stated “I don’t know who likes to write these kinds of things, but to me and Christian it’s [the same] like always [the relationship].”

But when he finally acknowledged the questions about Christian Horner, he said “Obviously, there are some things out there, but the most important thing is that we stay together as a team.” Telling the world that he does not think of F1 as his whole life, he stated “Plus, my life is not only Formula 1. When I’m at home, I prefer not to think about F1 too much, outside of my scheduled training.” Putting aside F1 from the focus, Sergio admitted to keep work matters away from his personal life and shared that irrespective of what is going on at Red Bull, he is looking forward to next season.

As it is known, Checo’s contract ends after the 2024 season, and with Red Bull not yet bringing up a contract, the question stands; What will Checo do in 2025? The Mexican has had his best year in Formula One finishing second after Verstappen in 23 and with this, he seems happy with the Milton Keynes team.

While other drivers are rushing to look for a seat, Checo seems more relaxed. In a conversation with F1.com, he mentioned that his priority is the upcoming season. His goal is to see what Red Bull has to offer with the RB20 to gauge if this is the team he wants to continue with or look for a new place to go. However, Perez is excited to see how the season turns out with the new RB20.
