Struggling Daniel Ricciardo Trolls McLaren For Gloomy F1 Future, Strikes Hopeful Bargain

Daniel Ricciardo has had a season to forget with McLaren F1. After 2021’s disappointment, many expected the driver to gel with the car comparatively easily and give the audiences ‘The Honey Badger’ show. However, Ricciardo has struggled heavily to finish in points and in a consecutive year, not bonded well with the now MCL-36.
After back-to-back sinking performances, a confession from boss Zak Brown shocked the world. This started a debate about whether Ricciardo was going to be replaced by the Woking outfit? In fact, there was no end to options; the ever-ready McLaren pool was hawk-eyed. Everyone thought to themselves; who will succeed Ricciardo?

Turns out no one because Ricciardo announced his refusal to leave the team in 2023. Now, in a new interview, he made a bold claim revealed, “Everyone knows my history in the sport. I haven’t won a hundred races but I’ve won enough to kind of let people know that I can do this. I think one thing I’ve always shown is: give me a winning car and I’ll cross the line first.”

“I feel like I’ve never left a win on the table. It’s really just trying to get to that place.” Clearly, the driver believes in himself and so do a lot of fans.

Ricciardo is undoubtedly a fan favorite for several in the F1 fraternity, with many disappointed regarding his sacking rumors. Though fans of the 33-year-old are convinced that better machinery might catapult him to a top position.

Safe to say, Ricciardo himself believes that. The Aussie has particularly struggled with the grip of his car mixed with occasional amounts of mechanical issues. Rarely has he felt completely comfortable in the car, which evidently doesn’t necessarily suit his driving style.
Thanking his team, he addressed, “The team is certainly rallying and trying to also help me out and find a car that I’m comfortable in…” Could this be a starting point for Ricciardo?
