Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher have made a good start to their partnership as teammates at Haas. It was a bit of shock when Dane joined Mick as his teammate this season. But Mick’s initial meeting with Kevin turned out to be a hilarious affair as he referenced his most iconic words in F1 featuring Nico Hulkenberg.

It is safe to say that Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg are not the best of friends in F1. The two drivers have often budded heads both on and off-track and have used some choice words for each other.

After one of the post-race interviews in 2017, Magnussen brushed Hulkenberg using some expletives which have become iconic now. From then on, Kevin’s image became a bit of a bad boy in the sport.

Interestingly, he mentioned that when he re-joined the Haas F1 team at the start of the season in 2022; he revealed his teammate Mick Schumacher welcomed him in his iconic words to Nico. “His very first words to me were ‘Suck my b***s!'” said Kevin on Mick’s welcome.

Kevin further praised his teammate and mentioned that he deserves to be in F1. “He’s a top driver. Many say he is only in Formula 1 because of his last name. That’s not true. He withstood the pressure that his name brings and delivered,” said Kevin.

“He interrupted an interview, and it was pretty disrespectful. I didn’t think about what was I gonna say and I just want him to b***** off and that came to mind so I think he asked for it,” said Magnussen.

It is simply remarkable how Schumacher hilariously welcomed the Danish driver back to the team. Mick certainly has an excellent sense of humor and picked probably the right moment to throw the iconic words back at his teammate.

There seems to be a general sense of respect between both Haas drivers until now. It would be key for the team they maintain this relationship until the end of the season if they want to progress on the grid.
