Little did they know it would take only a single race that marked the beginning of a new chapter of utter supremacy in F1. Since 2014, Mercedes has won every single Championship that the sport has to offer.

“Introducing the new V6 turbocharged engines and Mercedes has just dominated from that point onwards”

F1’s next major regulation change kicks in from 2022. The newer regulations include a major focus on enabling cars to follow closely and promote overtaking.

While Horner’s claims sound ambitious, they’re not entirely improbable. Red Bull has been chipping away at Mercedes over the last few seasons. They might not be actively challenging for World Championships and race wins consistently but they’re getting there – slowly but surely.
