The Italian team has put the disappointments that came with the season behind them as they begin to delve into the holiday spirit. New year, a new challenge, right? However, when it comes to the question of Mattia Binotto’s future, a lot seems uncertain.

There have been a few hypotheses of certain teams possibly welcoming him. One such team was said to be Mercedes. However, Silver arrows team principal, Toto Wolff, was quick to set the record straight.

Toto said, “I don’t see Mattia at Mercedes. There was too much poison between him and me in the last two years. It wouldn’t be possible, but I see it well in other teams. He is a man who knows Formula 1 very well and could perhaps find a good place on the grid in the future. There are many destinations that are attractive at the moment.” [Translated From Google]

However, despite their differences, Wolff admired the ability of Binotto to function under immense pressure.

Toto, in admiration of the Italian, said, “Mattia and I have had our moments in the over the years and in 2022 it was clear that he was under pressure. If you are the boss of a team like Ferrari, the best thing is to have a good contract for when you leave.”

“His departure was inevitable, but he held out longer than I expected. In Ferrari there is more pressure than in any other team, because you represent an entire country,” he said in conclusion. [Translated from Google]
