Max Verstappen has advanced far in the F1 world thanks to his passion for winning and thirst to spread his authority. The Dutchman, who made his debut in 2015, already has 36 victories and two championships to his credit. However, the 25-year-old driver, who has been dominating F1 courses since last year and is hoping to transcend all the glory associated with Lewis Hamilton, has continued to be unlucky on seven times champion preferred hunting ground.
As evidenced by his average points of six on the Australian track, the Dutchman appears to have fallen under the spell of the Melbourne Track. Verstappen, though, is in a good position right now because he is the favorite to win the championship for the third time in a row. In addition to giving you some statistics from the Australian Grand Prix, this may also provide us a brief overview of the track antics of Lewis Hamilton and how Verstappen has been unlucky.

Due to COVID-19, the two races held before last year were postponed. However, Verstappen won his first and only podium in the Mercedes era in 2019. When we talk about 2018, he finished in sixth place due to a costly blunder. After that, we are all aware of his difficulties. In contrast, the Mercedes driver has won the race twice, in 2008 and 2015, along with nine podium finishes and eight pole positions. The stats are enough to show how the dutchman has remained unlucky.
Citing the history, Verstappen said in an interview with motorsport.com, ” I’m looking forward to going back to Australia. It’s always nice to be there and experience Melbourne, but this race hasn’t been good for us in recent years. We just need a normal and consistent weekend. As a team, we haven’t won here since 2011, so let’s see what will be possible this time.”
Even though Verstappen hasn’t been as successful on the Melbourne track as on other circuits, the Red Bull headmaster believes that the fans will see a ‘different Max Verstappen’ on the Australian track.

Verstappen was prepared to rule the Jeddah circuit after his outstanding performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Verstappen, though, skipped the media day on Thursday due to a stomach virus immediately before the practice session. He was nevertheless anticipated to dominate the Saudi track. Verstappen’s boat, unfortunately, was rocketed by the drivers’ shaft issue in Q2, and despite being ill, the flying Dutchman finished at P2, prompting Helmut Marko to make some audacious promises prior to the Australian GP.
The Red Bull taskmaster told the F1 insider, “He wasn’t 100% fit. “However, he is now doing everything he can to maximize performance next time. We will therefore see a different Verstappen in Australia.”
