Among the current lot of F1 drivers, Max Verstappen is arguably the most dedicated one to the craft. When the season is on, he is racing. When we are in the off-season, he is still racing. Racing on his home simulator is probably the best pastime for the Dutchman. We saw that in his dedication to virtual 24-hour Le Mans recently. While that did not go as planned, his dedication to racing, in any form, is as firm as ever. As the reigning champion was asked what his occupation would be if racing wasn’t on the cards, he had the most Verstappen answer ever. Fans obviously had a field day with hilarious takes on the reply as well.
Being born in a family where his father was an F1 driver and his mother a renowned karting racer, speed was always going to be a major attraction for Max. Having been a regular in the paddocks at the age of 2, witnessing his father race in the pinnacle of motorsport, he developed an interest very early. Max was just 4 when he first started karting and since then, racing is all he knows, and boy, is he good at it.

The Red Bull trio: Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Daniel Ricciardo appeared for a fun little interview recently. In one part of the interview, they were asked what they would choose to do if pro-racing was not an option.
Speaking with GQ Sports, Max replied, “I would still do something in racing but more like a management role, set up something together with my dad. Can be either in racing itself or like go-karting.”

Another fan wondered if Max really would exist if it wasn’t for racing. The closest we think he could have come to becoming famous would have been through playing FIFA. The F1 star cannot get enough of the game and, at one point, was among the top-25 players in the world.
Max’s father Jos made it into F1 during his time. His mother Sophie Kumpen raced against the likes of Jenson Button, Jarno Trulli, and Giancarlo Fisichella in karting. No way he would have not become a racer as successful as he is.
