Villeneuve Discloses the Most Shocking Thing About Stroll-Esque ‘Daddy’s Boy’ Lando Norris

Like most of the new-age F1 drivers, Lando Norris, too, has had a lot of backing from his millionaire father, Adam Norris, who played a partial role in carving the way for the Briton’s route to the sport.
However, unlike in most cases, Norris has been carrying the much-needed spark to succeed in F1. And of course, his on-track results over this season say it all; the McLaren driver has been competing for P3 in the championship against Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, who are undeniably in a different league with respect to the cars.
Hence, former F1 driver, Jacques Villeneuve, reckoned that ‘daddy’s boy’ Norris has made an impressive effort to reach glory unlike drivers like Lance Stroll.

What did the ex-F1 driver say?
As reported by PlanetF1, Villeneuve was asked to choose his favorite new generation F1 driver, and his eyes directly pointed towards Norris. Why?
Well, he felt that Norris is one of the fewest drivers to succeed in F1 without much backing from his father. And he proved this point by comparing his teammate battle this season with former Red Bull driver, Daniel Ricciardo.

“Lando Norris. He destroyed Ricciardo,” Villeneuve said. “He has grown, and he’s very strong in the races. He’s a ‘daddy’s boy’ as well, like Stroll, but he shows an impressive hunger, unusual for drivers who did not have to make an effort.”
For the first time in 2021, Norris failed to score points at the Hungarian GP. And of course, one can’t blame the Briton for breaking the impressive streak. Instead, it was Valtteri Bottas’ misjudgment that caused Norris to suffer his first DNF.
Can Lando Norris hold on to P3 in the championship?
Norris has been on the incline since the 2020 season. His spark was undeniably the Styrian GP, where he chased down a much faster Lewis Hamilton with a time penalty on the very last lap of the race.
Since then, he has managed to gain a total of 14 top 5 finishes for McLaren, which is quite impressive for a driver who is only in the middle of his 3rd F1 season.

This season, especially, is witnessing the best of Norris, who has shown an impeccable level of consistency against Bottas and Perez. Hence, despite possessing a much slower car, there is hardly any question over Norris’ contention for P3 in 2021.
So, can the Briton secure his highest-ever finish in F1 by defeating the likes of Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari? Only time will tell.
