WATCH: When Sebastian Vettel & Lewis Hamilton Picked Each Other as Answer to Intense F1 Question

Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel are two of the greatest drivers to have graced the sport. The driver duo of Hamilton and Vettel has reached a height that arguably only Michael Schumacher can match. Interestingly, both Hamilton and Vettel see one another as the perfect rival to battle.

Back in 2021, when asked about their favorite rivalry in Formula 1 in an interview, Hamilton chose Vettel and vice versa. Talking about this, the Mercedes star conveyed, “I’ve got a really bad memory but I’m going to go and say mine and Seb’s battles are favorite up until now.”

I think it’s just knowing how hard it is to be where we are today. Knowing that I was racing against an incredible driver and not only that, but a great man in Seb. He’s a four-time world champion,” concluded the seven-time world champion.

When asked the same, the German shared, “Lewis, especially when I was at Ferrari. Lewis has always been right up there.”

After the former Red Bull driver announced his retirement from the sport at the end of the 2022 season, wishes poured in from all over the world. Among everyone else, there was Lewis Hamilton, too. However, his wish was something different.

In an interview, the Silver Arrows ace stated that he would want the German to be back even after a year of break. As the duo shares a great relationship on and off the track, it is normal for Hamilton to want Vettel back for friendship’s sake.

When it comes to F1’s statistics and the duo’s greatness, only Michael Schumacher is worthy as an opponent. While the Briton has 103 wins under his belt, 103 pole positions, 188 podiums, and 61 fastest laps in all the 306 entries he had in Formula 1, this is probably the greatest-ever statistic.

On the other hand, the Aston Martin driver has picked up 53 race wins, 57 pole positions, 122 podiums, and 38 fastest laps in all the 295 starts he had in F1.
