“You F**king Idiots”: McLaren Face the Wrath of Fans for Once Again Wrecking Daniel Ricciardo’s Race

Singapore GP has been full of safety cars and Virtual Safety cars. Typical, isn’t it? This might have frustrated a lot of teams, but McLaren is definitely not one of them. With both Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon out of the Singapore GP, it’s a race that could significantly help out McLaren in the constructor’s championship.

Yuki Tsunoda’s crash meant both Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris got a cheap pit stop. This allowed them to come out of the pits in P6 and P4 respectively, with Max Verstappen sandwiched between the two McLarens. It was obvious that Max was going to go for it from the get-go.

But, a lock-up forced him to drop down the grid, allowing Daniel Ricciardo to tuck behind teammate Lando Norris. We were expecting both these drivers to fight it out. But a radio message, instructing Daniel to hold position, spoiled the party for every F1 enthusiast.

McLaren might have been able to take 4th position in the constructor’s championship but Daniel will definitely not be happy with how things transpired during the race. Zak Brown and Andreas Seidl will have some explaining to do during the debrief.

Daniel Ricciardo’s army launch a verbal attack on McLaren

The Australian will be leaving McLaren at the end of the season. He would have wanted to leave his impression on this race. But things didn’t go Ricciardo’s way. This has angered the Daniel Ricciardo faithful.

Fans have gone on Twitter to express their discontent with the decision.

Another one defending Daniel wrote, “And then people wonder why he has more points. Bc when he’s up there he always has to hold position. Overrated.”
