The worst thing that can happen to a person is when their potential gets wasted. Lionel Messi‘s performance in both seasons for Paris Saint-Germain was definitely not a reflection of him. Even though the former PSG winger hadn’t revealed much in Paris, it was very evident that he was not happy. From fans’ boos and getting substituted early by the coach to playing out of position, Messi had a forgetful time at PSG.

His teammates from Argentina knew about this. The rapport between Messi and his national teammates doesn’t need any explanation. Rodrigo De Paul in 2020, pointed out that he is ready to go to war for him. De Paul is not the only one who expressed what he (Messi) meant to him.

We are enjoying what he generates. He looks happier now [than in PSG] and that is the most important thing. I’m very happy for him that he’s very happy.”
