The Game Awards 2023 brought with them a bunch of exciting new announcements. From all those game awards to a bunch of new world premiers, this show had everything. Even Hideo Kojima made their way to The Game Awards to show off their new Xbox-exclusive horror game. Hence, it only made sense that Capcom too brought something big to the table.

And they literally brought something big to the show. Capcom decided to show their fans the latest installment in one of their most popular franchises. This time around, they released the first trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds. The title literally looked pretty incredible.

Capcom’s newly announced game, Monster Hunter Wilds, is something else!

Monster Hunter is one of Capcom’s oldest video game series. These games combine elements of games like Devil May Cry and some open-world hunting games. Players spend hours and hours locating and hunting massive monsters. These monsters are the main selling point of this franchise, as they keep getting larger and more dangerous with every level completed. The last game released in this series was Monster Hunter Rise, and now Monster Hunter Wilds is here.

Many fans were expecting Capcom to bring a new Monster Hunter game to the PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Given the fact that Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch title at heart. This means it does not take full advantage of the horsepower that is available with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. And by the looks of the trailer for this new game, it appears this game was developed using the full potential of Capcom’s RE engine. The same engine is used in Capcom’s newer, better-looking titles.

From the trailer, it appears that it borrows a bunch of gameplay mechanics from Rise, though. The player can be seen riding a monster. But it also seems like the developers have added some new dust-based mechanics to the title, as at one point a monster is defeated and the dust covering a huge piece of land gets cleared.

Would this game launch on the Nintendo Switch?

While there is no mention of the Nintendo Switch as of yet, there is no chance it can run on that console anyway. It already looks much more graphically taxing than anything Capcom has released on the Nintendo Switch before.

The Game Awards Will Be Giving Away 100 Steam-Decks to Lucky Viewers!

Maybe Capcom would someday consider bringing this title to the Nintendo Switch 2. If Nintendo ever decides to reveal this title, they have yet to even mention a predecessor for the Nintendo Switch console.
