Contradicting Her Claims From Months Ago, MCU Fame Kathyrn Newton and Other Celebrities Join Hands to Ignite Sparks in Home of Golf Ahead of the Open Championship

The sport of golf is not limited to watching Pro golfers make headlines with their jaw-dropping performances on the links. There are several celebrities from other sporting spheres, entertainment, and even the business domain, who love to play a round or two for pleasure. But sometimes, it’s not just fun and games.

With the prestigious Open Championship on the horizon, Royal Liverpool has a stunning event planned for golf fans. Twelve renowned celebs with a passion for the royal sport, will face off against each other in teams to get the full pro-golfer experience.

Which celebs will partake in the Open Invitational?

Many enthusiastic actors, musicians, businessfolk, and sportspeople, both active and retired, have expressed an innate drive for golf. The Open shared an introductory post on their Instagram.

One of the shining stars this year is actress Kathryn Newton. The Ant-Man fame partook in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Pro-Am Tournament last year alongside English pro golfer Matt Wallace. She admitted that if she wasn’t an actress, she would have pursued golf. But that the sport is much harder than her current career path. Still, she loves to play golf and has reportedly scored a consistent 70 for a while, and even reached 69 once. She is thrilled to be part of the Open Invitational to once again test herself in a professional golfing environment.

Alongside her is former WBC Cruiserweight, Tony Bellew. The Bomber loves to play golf, and welcomed the opportunity to partake in the 12-player, 3-team event to test his skills on a professional golf course. Other sportsmen partaking in the event are, NFL’s Victor Cruz, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, and English footballer, Jordan Pickford.

Other celebrities who will be appearing at the event are footballer-turned-presenter Jermaine Jenas, English actor and comedian Bradley Walsh, and Irish singer Ronan Keating. The social media influencers Margaux Brooke, Blake Gray, Marques Brownlee, and Callum Airey, popularly known as Calfreezy will complete the team of participants.

The team leaders and the field

The 4-person teams formed to compete against each other in the Open Invitationals are going to be led by Kathryn Newton, Tony Bellew, and Victor Cruz. “This event promises to be a unique experience for all involved and Team Newton will be out to do all that we can to get the win,” Newton stated in anticipation of playing with her very own golfing team. She loves to play golf, so much so that she once joked to Tom Holland that she’d like a duel with him.

The links at Hoylake are prepared for an authentic professional event. The 18-hole gameplay at Royal Liverpool will commence on the 16th of July, Sunday. The 17th hole is sporting some changes with Par 3, while the Par-5 on the 18th hole will surely posit challenges for the participants.

Fans and their favorite celebs are eagerly waiting to see what happens in the Pro-Am gameplay.
