Tiger Woods has been absent from the course for a considerable amount of time. But in due time, he is busy with his own league, TGL, and other business ventures. He is also spending quality time with his son, Charlie Woods, on the courses as well. In short, Woods is never away from the golf course.

In the midst of all this, he and his business partner, Justin Timberlake, are all set to expand their golf-themed club, T Square Social, into a whole new location. But it seems like it is not an easy task since the locals are not happy with the decision.

Neil Dobson says this is not how Woods should “repay the town”

After a successful opening in Manhattan, both Woods and Timberlake are expanding their sports bar in St. Andrews, Scotland. The New Picture House Theater’s current location would be the site of the new golf-themed club. Woods has a special connection to the area because the Old Course in St. Andrews is where he won two major championships.

Even though the administrative staff of the cinema house are excited to host the bar, the locals seem to have little issue with that. The concept of Woods’ club at the theater does not appeal to them. Neil Dobson, a member of the St Andrews Community Council, expressed his displeasure by asking, “What’s next, Trump buying the West Sands for a hotel?” He continued that this is not the way Woods should repay the town, which has been nothing but good to Woods.

Fellow resident Chris Main stated that St. Andrews is already unique and Cinema doesn’t need any bars. “It’s astonishing that a university town loses its cinema to a multi-millionaire celebrity vanity project,” Main said. “St. Andrews has had a cinema here since the 1930s. My mother and father courted there. It’s one of the few independent cinemas left in Scotland.” 

Last year, Woods’ close friend Trump faced serious allegations regarding one of his golf courses in Scotland.

In 2006, the Trump Organization bought the Trump International Golf Club in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. At that time, the company paid $12.6 million for that.

However, according to legal records obtained by the media, the property was appraised by Trump Org at about $161 million in 2011. According to New York attorney Letitia James, the Trump Organization overvalues properties, which may be part of a fraud scheme. The Trump Organization, however, denied that they had engaged in any improper valuation.
