The golf world celebrates the victory of Rickie Fowler
The Instagram handle of the PGA Tour posted a series of videos of Fowler’s first round with Rahm. “Upset alert 🚨 @RickieFowler takes down Jon Rahm in their first round match @DellMatchPlay.” The match began with Fowler losing two holes to the Spaniard, but on the eighth hole, the universe began to turn in his favor. With a par, the PGA Tour pro completed the 460-yard par 4, cutting his deficit to just one. Rahm struggled throughout the final nine holes while Fowler made three birdies. By the par-3 17th hole, when both players made par, the Oklahoma State graduate had increased his lead over Rahm to two, giving him the group stage triumph.
