Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are probably the top two names currently in the golfing world. Hence, there has been a constant rivalry between them, especially during the early days of their careers. But even though Tiger was always in a league of his own winning back-to-back trophies, a prominent golf author recently revealed why Tiger considered Phil a threat.

Bob Harig recently on a podcast, revealed the reason why Phil was a threat to Tiger. “Tiger’s rival might have been Jack or history. And he did not look at Phil as a rival, but I don’t believe that,” said Bob on the Chasing Majors podcast

“He saw Phil as a threat, certainly after Phil won his first Masters. But the fact that they weren’t paired in majors more is unfortunate,” revealed Bob. “I think it’s our loss. You know that didn’t happen more because there’s plenty of majors where they were close.”

Notably, Phil Mickelson has also registered his name for the PGA Championship. He has been away from golf for about three months now after his comments about the PGA Tour and the rival league went viral. So it will be interesting to see how things unfold for the 51-year-old left-handed golfer.
