Billionaire Tiger Woods Earns a Whopping Amount Off-the-Course Beating Phil Mickelson and Two Other LIV Golf Defectors

The LIV Golf Series has shaken the grounds of finance in the game of golf. Several stars and former major championship winners switched sides to the cash-rich league in exchange for a lucrative contract. But while many have jumped into the cash pit, several sponsorship and endorsement deals have been cut off. This has led to meager off-course earnings for many LIV heavyweights, which is nothing when compared to golf legend Tiger Woods’ earnings.

According to an exhaustive article published by Forbes, an injury-ridden Woods collected a modest $43,500 on the course last season. His participation was heavily restricted to major championships and appearances near the end of the year, which affected his earnings on the field.

But the larger story was his gains from off-course sponsorships, which surpassed every other golfer on the planet. The research showed that Woods collected a cool $68 million last year. The figure further portrayed the 15-time major championship winner’s legacy, which has remained undiminished over the years.

How Woods’ off-course proceedings dwarf LIV Golf A-listers

Woods’ earnings speak louder when compared to some of LIV Golf’s biggest names. One of his main adversaries during the 2000s, Phil Mickelson received the biggest contract from the PIF-funded league. ‘Lefty’ crossed $1 billion in career earnings thanks to his mouth-watering deal, but fell out with a number of sponsors.

That meant Mickelson, who had a disappointing debut season at LIV, managed to earn $36 million in off-course earnings. That was still more than what Dustin Johnson earned outside the ropes. The biggest winner of LIV Golf’s debut season cashed in $29 million, which dwarfs in comparison to his mammoth $125 million LIV contract.

Yet, Bryson DeChambeau, who, like Mickelson, had a forgettable outing at LIV, earned $20 million off the course. In comparison, all three LIV golfers were placed above Woods in terms of salaries over the last year. Yet, the old cat punched above his weight when it came to collections in off-course earnings, with gains more than the wealth of Mickelson, Johnson, and DeChambeau.
