Brooke added, “According to Joe, Tiger brokered this relationship.” He spoke that “Tiger messaged Joe telling him that Nelly needs a caddie for this week as her normal caddie is on leave.”

“My agent, Chris Mullhaupt, is good friends with Tiger’s manager and I got connected that way,” said Korda, as mentioned on Golf Channel. “Through that, I got Tiger’s blessing, and this was a couple months ago, and now I have Joe on the bag for the rest of this week, which is a huge honor, obviously.” The veteran caddie also had a few words to share about the golfer.

Praising Korda, the golf host said that the LPGA golfer has been brilliant this year. He said that her new caddie was also singing high praises of her, “Watching her play is incredible, she just is like this super chill, super sweet, and she just flushes the shots.”

Joe LaCava caddied for the golf GOAT for over a decade. He was alongside Woods when he claimed his iconic 15th major title at the Masters, back in 2019. Amid his long recovery from a near-fatal accident in 2021, the 5-times Masters champion gave approval to LaCava to caddie for another golfer full-time.

As a result, LaCava started caddying full-time for Patrick Cantlay. Just a week ahead of the second major tournament of the season, Cantlay is taking some time off, which is when Korda came in and swooped LaCava away for her. This is LaCava’s first time caddying on the LPGA Tour, and maybe his last time as well, “it could be a one-off or a walk-off” said the golf host, Grant Boone.
