While the world of golf is desperately waiting to see Tiger Woods picking up his clubs once again and repeating the heroics he has delivered in the past, the superstar is taking his sweet time. Every now and then, we hear that he might make his comeback soon. But no action follows.

Although he is spending his sabbatical coaching his son Charlie Woods and being the young golfer’s caddie, this week, Woods Sr. will be present at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. It is being held at the El Cardonal at Diamante Golf Course in Mexico, which is designed by Tiger Woods’ company. But after that, Tiger isn’t likely to officially return soon.

In January 2024, Tiger Woods’ new technology-driven league, the TGL, will begin. The golfing superstar is almost confirmed to be playing there. But there are still two months remaining before that and some important tournaments are about to begin. Chances are, he could give a Christmas surprise to his fans by arriving there.

According to the fan page TW Spot, which follows all activities of the golfer, Woods told fellow player Stewart Cink who further told Golf Channel’s George Savaricas that “he has resumed practice sessions”.

But did not elaborate on what in particular he’s preparing for as The Hero World Challenge and PNC Championship approaches. Tiger was in Mexico for a couple of days this week but returned to Florida with his son scheduled to compete in the Notah Begay III National Championship in Louisiana this weekend,” added Cink.

A few days ago he announced the Hero World Challenge 2023 field, which he will be hosting. The competition consists of top players like Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, and others. But there was still a spot remaining on the team and fans started making theories that Woods might join in as the last player.

Joining forces with son Charlie

The PNC Championship will be held in December 2023. Like the last few years, the father-son duo will be participating in the tournament. And though they have always lost to the pair of John Daly and his son John Daly Jr., this year things could change. In 2023, Charlie Woods participated in many tournaments where his father assisted him, and he won some.
