Tiger Woods has had one aim in his golf career since he became a pro in 1996. He has been waiting for the day when he will break Jack Nicklaus’s 18 major wins record and win 19 major championships. He has come far from when he first picked up his clubs as a kid.

From that day to now, he has won 15 major championships and is only three major wins away from equalling Nicklaus. He talked about changing his techniques and said, “I don’t know. I suppose if I knew a young man named Tiger Woods was coming along, I probably played a little harder.”

However, he kept playing because he loved golf and won many tournaments. But no milestone was waiting for him after that.

The retired golfer further explained the importance of having a competitor or motivation in sports. He said, ” if I’d known he was coming, I would have worked harder. I mean, you need something to push you. You need somewhere to go.” The way breaking Nicklaus’ record is driving Woods to earn another milestone. It is the same way that every golfer needs that push, according to Nicklaus. Even though both the outstanding golfers did not interact much, they had huge respect for one another.
