A few days ago, Netflix, the PGA Tour, and all major tournaments for the same came together to announce a docuseries. In what might be another unique take on the sport, the organizations involved are ready to get up close and personal. Many big names on the PGA Tour have already committed to this, making it one of the most anticipated projects.

It goes without saying that the documentary and what it brings along will slightly alter what goes on during events. The crew will apparently have access while on the course and will provide fans with a new perspective of the tour. What one also anticipates, of course, are all the new people who might be introduced to the game.

Having said that, let’s take a look at how people have been reacting to the current Netflix-PGA Tour era.

In response, fans reacted on social media. While some responses are varied or negative, everyone shares some level of excitement for the new content.

“As it should be. This, unlike so many other little schemes by the tour, will actually (cough) grow the game…,” wrote one fan, probably hoping for some actual growth in viewership. Some added that they need Jon Rahm on the mic, reminding everyone that he is amongst the few others that won’t be a part of the show.
Many fans simply stated that they cannot wait for the documentary. Additionally, some made a reference to F1’s ‘Drive to Survive’ – a show which spiked their viewership and helped promote the sport. Hopefully, this show might do the same. “Get more excited by every tweet we see about this,” someone wrote.

Some more on the documentary

Apart from Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Rory McIlroy are a few major names not being included. Though this does impact the final result, they might not be completely out of the series as well.
